Update on Michael loves Tommy.....Spoilers for "Traveller" [Mar. 19th, 2008|08:51 pm]

Tariel22 has posted the exact quote & it's even swoonier than I'd hoped!

Michael: "I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I absolutely adore Tom. I have so much fun working with that guy. We have a lot of laughs. We talk every day - I can't believe it's been seven years. I really appreciate him, especially as [Nemesis] was probably one of the toughest episodes, because it was one of those times where we just dreaded coming to work. But when we were there, I don't know how many times that [the director] Mairzee, who we adore, would have to go, 'Guys, we've gotta get this!' because we were laughing so hard."

They talk every day? Even when they're not working? That's precious!

Tariel22's post is here:

SV episodes are airing in Canada a day early. A few spoilers for "Traveller" behind the cut:

A new character, Patricia Swann, tells Clark that Lionel killed Jason's father, Oliver's parents and her own father (Virgil Swann) because "Lionel wanted you all for himself." Then she appoints herself as Clark's protector.

But Lex seems to want Clark all to himself too, as he orders Patricia's death at the end. Lex is quite the dark l'il woobie in this episode.

Be warned that in typical SV continuity, Clark contradicts his sweet speech in "Fracture" here, telling Kara: "I think the Luthors are a lost cause..." Dialogue is a bit plodding all round.

I fear Lionel may die "protecting" Clark from Lex. It should be the other way round. (Mind you, Lionel's idea of "protecting" Clark this week consisted of putting him in a krypto-cage and letting a weird guy zap him.)

Thats a great quote from MR. It can't be re-posted enough for my tastes. :)

I have to admit, I don't know how I feel about all these people fighting over Clark belonging to them. I mean, on one hand, its sort of amusing that the Luthors are fighting over who gets control of Clark. But add in the whole Veritas thing, and then the Jor-El stuff, and it just seems like overkill. Its like...what does this have to do with Clark becoming Superman. Will he don the cape just to get away from all these freaks who want to own his ass? LOL

And I think given what Clark had just gone through, the revelations with Lionel, the situation with Kara and Lex, I think he deserves a little slack for having no love for Luthors this week.

His delivery is sorrowful, rather than judgemental. And it's part of the wax & wane of SV, depending on who's writing: the boys come together one week, then drift apart for two. But it's never "over."

I just don't want Lionel to die a "hero's" death, not after all his years of hurting Lex and not after torturing Clark this week. I want Lex to kill Lionel to keep him the Hell away from his Clark!

I just love the image of MR & TW gabbing away on the phone. Sharing set gossip? Sports talk? It's too cute!

Well, maybe Lex will kill Lionel in a tug-o'-war sort of situation. Like a "you can't have him, he's MINE!" type of thing. That doesn't make Lionel noble.

Hey, maybe Mikey calls Tom up to remind him of how sexy he was in The Fog's shower scene. LOL

That would be entirely okay!

Mmmm, I like that scenario. And of course, Tom has seen "Sorority Boys" four times.....Michael in red satin undies: yum! They could talk about that too.

I like the idea of bitchy phone calls about Goughlar!

The MR quote is from Smallville: The Official Companion - Season 6? I'd sworn I wouldn't get that (just as I've sworn not to get the season six DVDs) because I knew it would have Oliver Queen in it...but you do tempt me with the image of MR and TW all cute together off-screen. *sigh*

I actually can't blame Lex much for his actions in "Traveler." Patricia Swann knew that Lionel was a multiple murderer and (thanks to his very public murder conviction) that he didn't mind killing close blood relatives, yet she was perfectly willing to sic Lex on Lionel and risk Lex getting killed in the process. Maybe, under the circumstances, Lex saw eliminating her as a necessary act of self-preservation, just as he clearly saw eliminating Grant/Julian as a mercy killing once Grant had put himself in Lionel's hands. And Kara was jumping to typical Kent conclusions when she yammered about Lex dissecting her brain; for all we know, Lex simply wanted to help her get her memory back, just as he'd promised. If, in the process, he also gained knowledge that would help him save the world, how is that a bad thing?

As for Clark faithlessly abandoning Lex after swearing that he'd always take care of the part of him that is Alexander, don't forget that in "Hero," Clark chose to let Lex smash down on what was probably a concrete floor, giving him yet another head injury that might have resulted in permanent or fatal brain damage. Typical Clark -- spouting pious platitudes (thanks, Bo) one week and forgetting all about them the next. *gnashes teeth* If this series has done nothing else, it's left me with a deep and abiding love for Lex Luthor and an intense loathing of Clark Kent. (Outside of great CLex fanfic, that is.)

There are lots of quotes from the book to make you grit your teeth as well (mostly concerning the infallibility and supreme importance of Lana.) But, yeah, I'll likely buy a copy.

I wish he'd waited a few eps to kill her, as I liked the actor and would have been interested to see more scenes with her. Would her motives towards Clark have turned out to be as noble as she claimed? And coldblooded!Lex hurts my heart a little.....*sniff*

That's the legendary SV writers' room inconsistency again, one script contradicting the previous script, and so on. I'd love to know what the actors think about that. Love the quote (in Tariel's post) from Annette O'Toole, who couldn't believe Martha would attend Lana's engagment dinner. (And was told Lana is "like a daughter" to Martha...er, no.)
