Michael's manscaping scene really amused me - watched it three times now! Would love to know how much of that was improv'd. And I'm enjoying the cast as a whole so, YAY.

Yeah, that manscaping scene... talk about a compromising position. lol

Though, it was Dutch's first scene that totally won me over! I don't care what Michael calls Dutch's character, I love him. *g*

"You really should look at this." *volunteers*

I know I'm biased, but Michael's all-too-brief time onscreen was once again the highlight of the show for me. The manscaping scene made me laugh harder than anything else in the episode. So far Dutch hasn't done anything to make me describe him as a douche in any way. I think he's a sweetheart.

I like all of the characters, and there were a lot of fun scenes this week. I especially liked all of them talking behind their hands, and watching the team getting taken down by the security system at the house. Next week Melanie's dad comes to town, and judging by the sides, Dutch should have a more substantial role to play in the story. I hope so!

He's so earnest and pleased to be offering this golden opportunity!

It's very cute he calls her "Mel"!

Michael keeps talking about judging books by covers and Dutch gets judged by his clothes. But he's a total doll!

YAY!

I do like the series so far. It's gentle humor and gets in all the geek references without being way over the top. Life without the put-downs. (I *swear* the electrical key thing was a reference to The Wizard of Speed and Time -- I cracked up so hard when seeing it! ^^)

The only thing I don't like so far is the intensity of the crush thing, but I suppose that's normal in tv shows (rolls eyes). Michael was a delight, and I agree that he doesn't seem all that douchy to me. A little slow (!!) and silly, but totally adorable and cute. He needs a better girlfriend. ;D

I was also glad to see more of cake lady in there, and it just is really nice to see the wide range of extras running around in the office - probably not the same extras every time, but it makes it feel much more real to me than if it was just their group only all the time.

That reference sailed right over my head! And I agree that the gentle humour is refreshing, that all the crew seems to like each other (and fear Oz!)

The Wizard of Speed and Time

It's a really *old* reference. Was going around in SciFi cons in the late 80s. I expect these folks in Breaking In would have known it. {{rummage}} Ah, YouTube... has almost everything. Go out to 4.10 and watch to 4.30. I think there was another scene in the movie earlier where the first person tried to steal the bike and the chain started, but I can't find a clip of that one.

This is the original 1979 short upon which he later made the movie expansion. The Special Effects Wizard of all SciFi of the time. (Before there was digital...)

Dutch is adorable! Love the manscaping.

Just watched the ep again - I'm liking all the cast now as well, which is good.

Not sure I can manage to stay up and watch it live every week though! Very tired this morning!

It's too bad it's not an 8Pm show here...I'd never make it until 2:30 AM!

I wasn't expecting that all the characters would be so...nice. It's refreshing. Apart from Michael, I think Cash is my favourite.
