It's BAAACCCCK! yay?

Like every other Oliver episode, this is completely silly and inadvertently funny.

The villain seems to be named "BoredAgain", spot on given his refusal to emote at all. Did he really say "Your heart is gunk like mine, Oliver?" I swear that's what I heard.

Lois should be smarter than to run very slowly down the middle of the street while being shot at.

Clark spends a lot of time knitting his brow in perturbation but at least he looks pretty in Blur-casual.

Chloe got my favourite line: "He wouldn't be the first orphan to go and join a cult!" Well, if you say so, dear!

The one scene I liked was Clark finding Zod perched on a stool in his kitchen. Zod gets all flirty with Clark and I regret to say Clark, the hussy, does a little eyelash fluttering back at him. Zod is upset that Clark has not "reciprocated his embrace", or something. Callum Blue pronounces "Fascinating" as "Fattinating" which is an interesting acting choice. But then - oh no they didn't! - Zod holds up an apple and starts talking about the Trojan War. THOSE ARE LEX THINGS!

Let Zod have his own things - like perching on stools and saying "fattinating"!

Very interesting review. I don't think I've ever had the occasion to read one of yours before. Perhaps because I don't watch Smallville as - regularly as some of my friends. But I watched tonight, and for being utterly lost at what the heck the back story was, I enjoyed it. As I also enjoyed your picspam. (LEX HAND!!!)

That's probably the best way to watch SV - not to worry about context or continuity and just enjoy the pretty people!

Accept no substitutions!!

I was thinking almost the exact same things: I even found myself wondering: "Could we slash 'em?" I guess we'd have to call that pairing "Clod."

Ever since they ended Clark & Lex's friendship/relationship, they keep trying to come up with Lex substitutes. And failing. But Callum Blue is a good enough actor, and Zod's a good enough character, that at least it's interesting.

Yes tonight certainly was a giggle fest for me. I had thought the whole "poor oliver" was over. Don't get me wrong I like his character but I thought he was on a good path. Why do they keep "testing" him?

Oh my god! I snorted at acampbell's comment that clark and zod would be clod! Too funny!! AS far as they go all I can say is bring back LEX LEX LEX!!!

I've never understood why Oliver was put on the angst-path - he should have been Clark's buddy, dispensing the one-liners. Justin is good at that. And his "tests" are always so silly!

Oh my, I laughed and laughed at this episode...and I don't think it was supposed to be funny.

We were calling the bad guy "BoredAgain" too! LOL

I don't quite understand half of what Callum Blue says. And whats with the teary eyes. Its like David last season. Every episode, they're cryfacing. Stop it! You are Bad Guys! Nut Up!

Poor Oliver - all his episodes end up being entertaining for all the wrong reasons!

We were calling the bad guy "BoredAgain" too!
If that's not his name, then none of the cast could pronounce it properly. And man, was that actor monotone! He could go louder and quieter but that was the extent of his histrionics.

Hee, cryfacing is the perfect description! Justin was doing that a lot tonight too. Though I admit how Callum B. seems to be making his own fun, his Zod never seems to pose an actual threat. (Nice interactions with Tom though.)

I don't watch anymore, but I still read people's reviews to keep updated. I loooved your's. But then - oh no they didn't! - Zod holds up an apple and starts talking about the Trojan War. THOSE ARE LEX THINGS! Heehee! You tell 'em girl! And then you included two great caps from acampbell. It's always a treat to see Lex, especially from S1.

And then...and then...Let Zod have his own things - like perching on stools and saying "fattinating"! I almost died. That's perfect. Thanks for the laughs.

Thank you! If the "Clod" scene pops up on YouTube, you might enjoy it, for Clex comparative purposes. It's Zod's stool that brings the laughs!

lol I haven't been watching SV at all this season, but your review amused me to no end. :D *giggles*

But... they shouldn't be taking Lex's and Clark's hobbies and letting someone else do them with Clark. That's just not right. I'm sure Zod doesn't look as good as Lex though.

Thank you! Like jeannev, I giggled my way through this one, which probably wasn't the desired response!

Especially since they crammed two Lex references into a single scene. Put that apple down, Zod!

I enjoyed the episode overall but the part I found really amusing was when it seemed Chloe couldn't make up her mind about being proud of the "help" she gave Oliver in 'Roulette' or ashamed that maybe she drove him crazy. She kept trying to have her cake and eat it too.

I know! Poor Allison - that was a most baffling speech. I also laughed at how Chloe and Clark almost immediately flipped positions as to whether Oliver would go on an arrow rampage or not. And Chloe's brief split personality theory was quite silly too

Now, you'll know Dark Archer's proper name...he can't really be called BoredAgain???

LMAO. Chloe gets the best lines.

Zod holds up an apple and starts talking about the Trojan War.

:O ... Oh no they didn't! Really? Lex needs to come back and show Zod how it's really done *looks up at pictures and sighs*. Accept no substitutes Clark! Clark is such a hussy sometimes. And is it just me or does he seem to have a thing for the bad guys?

He should NOT be fluttering those lush lashes at Zod, no he shouldn't! If Lex does come back, it'll be to retrieve his boyfriend and kick some Kandorian ass!

The cheek of them! If Zod fondles a pool cue or deep throats a bottle next week, I'm starting a letter campaign, yes indeed!

The character's name was "Vordegan," or something like that. I only know that though because I like to watch TV (especially Smallville) with the Closed Captioning on.

I was quite taken aback by Zod's mention of the Trojan War. You're right- that's Lex's territory! :-)

Is it just me or does Callum/Zod seem to be giving everyone his bedroom eyes?

Aha! Thank you. It's unfortunate it sounded so much like "BoredAgain" because it really fits the poor guy's performance.

I think both Callum and Zod are bored and are trying to have fun anyway that they can!

Hee! No one tries to take Lex's place on SV, not even Zod! (Heck, Lex was Zod before Zod was Zod!)

Callum Blue is seriously slashing it up in there, though. Those were some very bedroom eyes he was making at Clark in the scene at the Kent Farm! Plus, the tears barely contained ... it's all so very Lex!

Did he really say "Your heart is gunk like mine, Oliver?" I swear that's what I heard.

Hee. He said "Your heart is dark like mine, Oliver", but he was generally very mumbly and kept enunciating funnily! I think at some point he said "de-CAY" with the emphasis on the last syllable, and it took me the whole sentence to figure out what the hell he had said.

All the SV men try to copy Lex as a way of getting into Clark's pants - IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

Hey! I can't bear to watch SV with any regularity any more, so I missed this one. I just wanted to pop in and see what a lovely sight it was to open up my flist and see MR's beautiful tongue wagging itself at me. I giggled so loudly my husband came in from the next room to see what was up.

It was rather a silly episode! Zod and his apple...

The worse part is thatthe writers plan on putting together Oliver/Chloe; no offense to these fans of the ship but I'd rather see him with Black Canary, Zantanna, or Tess. I think it maybe a rumor or spoiler but I am not entirely sure.
He will probably end up pairing off with ALL those ladies in addition to Chloe. Oliver seems destined to be with every single girl on the show, the blond hussy!
