*spoilers*

When Clark gets a note from "Z" to meet on the roof, I really wanted it to be from Zatanna!

This episode was more coherent than Persuasion but left an equal sense of deja vu. The Clark/Zod thing...yet another attempt at recreating Clex on the river bank, isn't it? And the Clex scene in Vessel. Clark saves someone who, according to SV morality, he shouldn't have saved, making that everything that subsequently happens His Fault.

Ditto Chloe & Oliver deciding they know what's best for Clark. This plot, again? Are there any original plotlines left on the writers' board?

The episode didn't give Tom much to do, though I enjoyed the scene where he gently carries the half-naked Kandorian. If she had a crush on him before, the girl's a goner now! And that man has the most enormous, sexy hands.

Good episode for Lois. I enjoyed her handling of Chisholm and her policy on mutual secrets guarantees a smoother ride than Clana. Interesting that Lois tells Chisholm he should be grateful for being brought back to life, albeit involuntarily. She should have been around to speak up for Lex in Cyborg!

I think it's hilarious that Chloe is tapping Oliver's ass and bank account. Enjoying Allison as a hardboiled dame and Oliver's grievous offense that someone is using him for his money. How dare she? I like this plot much better than their team-up against Clark. JH's abs were especially ab-by in this episode.

The guy who played Chisholm was very good. Loved his suddenly loud "IT'S AN ALIEN" and the way he kept fidgeting with his hat. I was not expecting the dramatic reveal of what was under the hat. Faora also showed a lot more dimension than she has in previous eps - I'm starting to enjoy her.

I enjoyed Zod playing reporter and putting on Clark-glasses. Callum B. continues to thoroughly entertain himself. Love his ultra-dramatic SNIFF when Zod storms out on Clark. Still not finding him at all scary - maybe next episode?

To summarize: some quite enjoyable parts but the pace was rather plodding and the overall direction of the plot is worrisome. (I think I may also be showing this ep. more charity than I would if it hadn't aired right after Persuasion.)

It was an interesting episode to say the least.

I don't like Chloe and Oliver hiding things from Clark although I do give Oliver props for saying they would tell him eventually. I also like Oliver being one step ahead of Tess! More props to Ollie.

And the last 10 seconds of the show I saw coming from a mile away once Clark saved Zod. And next weeks Ep. Now that Zod knows how to take what he wants I'm wondering exactly how far he will go. I'm so not sure how I felt about this episode. I did love Lois and you are right Chisholm was wonderful!

Great review.

Thank you!

Justin's delivery of that line seemed a little sinister to me. Do you think the Kandorians will find the weapons cache first and use them against Clark?

Chisholm was wonderful!
Love when a guest actor takes an underwritten role & makes it awesome!

There is a very good possibility of it especially since Tess suspects something and because Zod now knows he can use Clarks blood to give his people their powers. Things could get messy. I am hoping the writers will see that having too many people with super powers would be a huge mistake, but we will see. Also I'm worried about checkmate. What if they get their hands on them and try to use them against Clark. Chloe really isn't thinking clearly too many of Clarks enemies would love to have them.

One other things. I'm also confused at exactly how many kandorians do exist now. There seemed to only be about 20 the last time zod addressed them all but are there any others around? In the alternate future there seemed to be hundreds.

When Clark gets a note from "Z" to meet on the roof, I really wanted it to be from Zatanna!

I find all the short-forms so funny! Lois keeps getting messages from "The Wall", and Clark keeps getting ones from "Z"... it's all so texty in there! ;)

Clark saves someone who, according to SV morality, he shouldn't have saved, making that everything that subsequently happens His Fault.

It's getting frustrating, really! And I don't get how we're supposed to interpret the information we got about him from Faora. Is he really a good guy who has turned bad because of the circumstances he is in? I think they're going for "moral ambiguity" here, but it's not really working.

Good episode for Lois. I enjoyed her handling of Chisholm and her policy on mutual secrets guarantees a smoother ride than Clana.

Was she actually looking to spill in that last scene, before Clark got called away? Because I was feeling bummed that she was keeping secrets from him, but if she really wanted to tell him, that changes things.

I think it's hilarious that Chloe is tapping Oliver's ass and bank account. Enjoying Allison as a hardboiled dame and Oliver's grievous offense that someone is using him for his money. How dare she? Agreed. I'm enjoying this new take on "romance", and I think these two are perfect for each other at the moment, because neither of them trusts the other.

Loved his suddenly loud "IT'S AN ALIEN" and the way he kept fidgeting with his hat. I was not expecting the dramatic reveal of what was under the hat.

I liked him too! And I wasn't expecting the scars, either. CREEPY.

Faora also showed a lot more dimension than she has in previous eps - I'm starting to enjoy her.

Me too. I'm glad she's getting to stick around!

Callum B. continues to thoroughly entertain himself. Love his ultra-dramatic SNIFF when Zod storms out on Clark.

He's taking scenery-chewing to John Glover levels! RESPECT! :D

You mean the part where they're setting all this up to blow up in Clark's face? Isn't that how they handle EVERY season? *sigh*

I don't understand why they won't vary from that same template every year!

This is how Lexana should have been - hope it plays out well!

I don't believe for one minute that the great Amanda Waller would call herself the Wall, no way!

LOL wouldn't that be awesome??
I would be more happy if it wrote LL. That would be romantic ;)

Agreed. I really like it when girls shows they're attracted to Clark. Clark's hands *guh*

Lex thinks it's unfair he hasn't kissed Clark on the roof of the Planet yet!

I really like it when girls shows they're attracted to Clark.
That girl was completely smitten & it's so cute!

Therefore nothing seems repetitive to me, because that was the other show - Lex and Clark.
That's a sensible attitude to take. Since I prefer the Clark & Lex show, it irks when they take familiar concepts & trace over them. Why not strike out new ground? Rabid & Warrior were great eps this year & wholly S9 originals.

I honestly feel like the wirter are trying to make Chloe into a Batman- Esque, character. Execpt on screen she's being constantly paralleled with Luthorcorp, and Tess.

I honestly think they don't realise how maddening it is for us to see especially when you consider she's not admitting that the reason she wanted to save him (Davis) was because he was her Clark substitute, and she wanted to do him.

Is it bad I hope this blows up in her face? Cos she's making my teeth itch.

The guy who played Chisholm, was J.R Bourne, and like I know him from Stargate, where he played a host to a good alien hee! and also lots of films

Callum Blu is a fantasic actor isn't he. Now that he's come into his own, now Zod knows that he doesn't have to depend on Clark, we see the true Zod. I think Zod was all over the place because he was vulnerable. I love him playing reporter and we saw how good he was at blending in!

Lois had me grinning, I loved the way she dealt with Chisholm, and Clark and even Zod. I love that Zod thinks she's special!!!

I also love that there Kryptonian women crushing on Clark. He's too beautiful not to be crushed over!!!

I think you're right - Batman always has a stash of kryptonite in case Clark goes rogue & is notorious for not trusting people.

I honestly think they don't realise how maddening it is for us to see especially when you consider she's not admitting that the reason she wanted to save him (Davis) was because he was her Clark substitute, and she wanted to do him.
I don't know why they won't give Tom & Allison a big emotional confrontation scene - I think they would rock it. Sometimes in the past, when SV has tried to push a relationship, they try and break off other relationships, ie during Lexana, Lex hardly had scenes with anyone but Lana, and no other women. So this year, to develop Clois, maybe they wanted to limit Chlark scenes? I think it was a mistake; there's a lot of unfinished business there, and a big apology owed.

I also love that there Kryptonian women crushing on Clark. He's too beautiful not to be crushed over!!!
I hope we see more Kryptonian-crushes!

Callum is a real ham! He needs more screen time with a better storyline - perhaps that will happen now that he is Clark's blood brother !! Very CLexy way for the story to go. Zod will never be Lex though.
He's certainly enjoying himself! And they absolutely seem to be trying to evoke Clex with this plotline, though nothing is as ♥♥♥ as Clex!

Hmmm, my mind is wandering to a hot Clark/Zatanna rendezvous with lots of sweaty sex. Someone writer a fanfic please! :)

Chloe and Oliver are just loathesome, aren't they? I wish Clark had better friends. No, check that, I wish he had friends! Period. Because I don't think Chloe and Oliver even register on that scale. I guess Lois does, but she's his girlfriend, and I'd like him to have a spare.

You have to love how both of those idiots have completely glossed over their own actions in the Doomsday debacle. Nope, according to them, its all Clark's fault!

I thought this was a very good ep for Lois too. I much prefer Lois in her determined journalist role to her goofy, dreassing-up girlfriend role. I also thought the balance between Clois, the other stuff going on in their lives, was well done here.

The villian in this ep was excellent. What a compelling actor.

I think this would've been a great episode for the most part...if the end hadn't taken the turn it did. It just ruined it for me.

Chloe and Oliver get the Lana-treatment....they didn't do anything wrong. They were victims, of their own PAIN.

I am wondering if this might be the writers' attempt at rewriting S8, with a "Clark IS right" ending? Even so, we don't need the same plot over again & I'm probably giving them too much credit.

I liked that she went to cafe anyway, ordered some wine, settled in with her newspaper - they hit the right balance of 'ship, work and action here.

My husband said that I almost actually scared him during that scene since I was yelling such horrible things, so loudly at the TV. Those two are making me very, very unhappy.

I'm actually cringing even more now recalling how badly Lois was used in the last, when I compare it to how effectively her character was handled here. Honestly, I can't understand why the writers don't get that it's OK to show Clark and Lois on their own individual stories every once in a while too. I really appreciated the mixing up of the dynamics here in that regard with Clark/Faora and Zod/Lois.

I think it makes their collective story stronger, when they are following their own paths as well. Like that Clark knows Lois isn't threatened by hot ladies in leather showing up at the Planet - and that Lois doesn't feel obliged to share all her leads with Clark.
