Michael & John disagree on Lionel's parenting skills! [Nov. 1st, 2011|09:31 pm]

Happy Birthday to ariss_tenoh! Hope you're enjoying your travels!

christina_kat posted a video from the Smallville Boxset, a featurette about fathers & sons. The first part's a bit goofy (They needed a psychologist to explain that Jor El is a "cold" father? He lives in an ice palace! ) The Luthor half is funnier, with Glover offering his usual tongue-in-cheek defense of Lionel. Michael: "Lionel was an awful, mean Daddy. He was!"

Breaking In Update: Odette Annable gave an interview which seems to indicate Michael will be back on the show: "First of all, Michael Rosenbaum is a genius, he really has taken Dutch and made something very special. I love their relationship, but seeing more of that love triangle would be good. Melanie and Cameron might become a Jim and Pam situation -- which takes years and years to develop. She has a soft spot for Cameron even though he's like the gay best friend for now. She may develop feelings down the road."

I'm worried that Michael isn't coming back. I think it's possible that Odette just assumed he would be returning, and doesn't know that he was never officially signed for S2. Today, when Deadline and THR reported that Megan Mullally would be joining the cast, both sites listed Michael as one of the cast, but the announcement on Breaking In's facebook (which reads like an official FOX press release) makes no mention of him at all. :(

I'll miss him as Dutch, but I'm excited and happy about all the other projects he has in the works, especially those where he has a lot of creative control.

I've asked the producer directly - tired of not knowing! I noticed Trevor Moore (Josh) has vanished from the cast. There was buzz in the spring that Fox wanted BI revamped to appeal more to women (which it already did!) which might explain Megan's hiring. I like her but wish she was playing one of the team, rather than Oz's boss, which seems a redundant role.
