Cool pic of the chickadee! Hope you get some good snow for skiing!
(And I can just see MR pretending to be a traveling Monk!)
Thank you! The chickadees will land right on your hand and demand an offering.
It does sound very "Michael" to play at being a Monk!
You could try adding Disqus to your tumblr. It lets you receive comments on your posts, I think. Haven't tried it myself, but it's an option. I don't think it gets used a lot even when available though.
Thanks - I'd read about that but apparently tumblr discourages it & makes it hard to install? And I'm inept at add-ons.
Still not quite sure Tumblr is the place for me...
Idk, isn't Disqus included in their FAQ? If it is, I don't think they're being as discouraging as they could be. Approximately a bazillion people have used tumblr before you, so I'm pretty sure there's a how-to floating around somewhere that could help you out.
Tumblr's great for finding fanart--I've never paid a lot of attention to it before, but when I got into tumblr, I became obsessed with it. Reblog ALL the fanart!!1! Then I got a bit bored of tagging, so I just stopped. I think it's been a couple of months. I'll probably pick it up again, maybe.
It's definitely great for tagging & finding pics!

A friend tried to install Disqus and got warning pop-ups...I'm sure there's an easy way but I may wait until I've acclimatized to tumblr a bit.
I've never really checked out Tumblr other than looking at pics people linked too. I'm too comfy with LJ/IJ/DW. lol
Well, I think I just found out how to get my nephew to watch Old Days when it comes out. LOL
Pretty picture! :) We haven't had much snow at all this winter and I'm not complaining.
Your nephew is a Morena-fan? That's handy!
Tumblr is really great for images & gifs, definitely a visual medium.
Tumblr can be a lot of fun (and time consuming), but it's no replacement for LJ. You're right that it doesn't have the personal connections and in depth conversation that LJ allows. It's more comparable to Twitter than to LJ and I like it better than Twitter
What it has over LJ is that 1.) It's easier to post pictures. It's one step instead of three. 2.) It's easier to find pictures with the tagging. 3.) The drafts and queue features are very nice. I have over 300 posts in my drafts and every Sunday I move 20 of them over to my queue. That way, with my limited internet access, I can still keep my blog running.
That's interesting...I took to twitter right away but have never liked facebook. Tumblr might fall somewhere between the two poles for me.
The queue feature sounds very handy, especially as this is your busy time of year! And the tagging system is great, much better than LJ's.
Heh, I do hope it was Michael pretending to be the travelling monk!
I am reluctantly beginning to think I might have to start a Tumblr just because fandom is all over there these days, even though I don't really see the point of all the reblogging and I'm not much interested in fanart in the first place. Hmm.
Good news about Morena too, she seems cool and will bring plenty of fannish interest with her.
Hope you get enough snow for skiing!
The snow was unexpectedly great - my legs are aching like crazy now, in a good way!
Hopefully both Michael & Morena will hit the con scircuit this summer - did you see he's been getting "I saw you!" and "Please hire me?" tweets from the locals? Would love an update from him.
Tumblr is certainly busy - my Tom pic gor reblogged 60 times in about 15 minutes; I was astounded. I imagine Sherlock fandom must generate thousands of posts a day.
aww cute picture :)
I enjoy tumblr for pretty pictures on my board, keeping some for later appreciation<3 it's a great tool for my other fandoms like tennis and figure skating which have lots of photos to keep up with!
Yes, tumblr is great for finding & posting photos!
